West Village Triplex

The design for this West Village residence involved a comprehensive renovation to an upper- level duplex and a new rooftop expansion that added a new floor, resulting in an entirely new triplex. Linked together with a custom limestone staircase, the new residence offers a range of spaces with varying degrees of openness and privacy. An open plan allows for flexible use of the space and maximizes natural light, while strategically placed skylights introduce even more daylight from the apartment’s upper levels. The layout allows the client, an avid collector of art, to exhibit a range of works. With sweeping views of the Hudson River, the triplex features a full-length retractable wall on the mezzanine level, transforming the living room into an indoor-outdoor environment connected with a river-facing terrace.
